Not a dumb question.
Comedy/acting needed to work out for me because I have nothing to fall back on. I have no college degree. I have no useful skills. I also have worked hard and figuring out what I think is funny and how I’m funny.
Comedy is a ton of work. Do the work and you can’t fail! But you will bomb and do shitty shows. I’ve done tons of things/characters/bits that are bad and shit. But those failures will make you want to get up and do it again. I had an improv teacher (Shannon O’Neill whom I doubt remembers even saying this) say that I needed to do some bad scenes and bad shows to grow and not be afraid to fail.
So go out and do your comedy and if you fuck up good! learn from it and move on. Good luck!
Viola Davis is a freaking tour de force. As she slowly peels back her wig, her eyelashes and wipes away her makeup, you can just see Annalise come undone. She doesn’t say a word, but you can feel the pain radiating off her. It gave me the chills. (x)
this scene, yo.

Joke stealing is a shitty thing that happens and you can’t prevent it. But luckily comedy is populated by pretty awesome talent people. At least the circles I run in. If you take classes and start performing at ucb (my comedy home) you won’t have to worry about that. Everyone is too busy and talented to steal.
I have no clue how to self produce anything for tv. All I know is for like a Comedy Central half hour you submit a tape. That’s all I know you submit and they call or they don’t.

The best way to get on girl code or any none reality (comedic) show is to start performing comedy at clubs and theaters. Make a name for yourself. This can take anywhere from 6 months to 10 years.
Then get an agent and or manager and have them set up an audition. Maybe you’ll get a callback maybe your won’t.
